Now, some of these titles I came up with on my own, but I will give credit and tell you that many of my friends have these as titles themselves. These are really just some of many titles that can and should be used! You know what your friends are like, and if you really try, can sit down and think of a hilarious title that they will love
Karl Malone, a 14 time all-star, comes in at #2 on the all time scoring list. “The Mailman” is arguably the best Power Forward to ever play. A 2 time NBA MVP, Malone had a deadly mid-range jumper to compliment a nice post game. His size and strength made him a definite low post presence. Malone was a member of the 1992 Dream Team that won gold in the Olympics in Atlanta. He was a 13th overall pick by the Utah Jazz in 1985. Karl Malone came close to leading the all time scoring list, but close doesn’t cut it!
Kareem! Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the all time leading scorer in the National Basketball Association. His 38,387 points are the most of any player. He is a 6 time NBA Champion and a 6 time NBA MVP. Everyone knew he was going to be amazing after his rookie year when he won “Rookie of the Year”. Kareem was a master of the sky hook. He was recognized by the Los Angeles Lakers for his play by erecting a giant statue in his honor at the Staples Center. Kareem had better watch out though! There are a few young players that could very possibly pass Kareem’s mark!
Oscar Robertson, commonly known as “The Big O”, was one of the best all around players to ever play in the National Basketball Association. In just his second year in the NBA he averaged over 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. Oscar Robertson won an olympic gold medal in 1960, an NBA MVP award in 1964, and was selected to an NBA All-Star team 12 times. Oscar Robertson was the first overall pick in the 1960 draft, selected by the Cincinnati Royals. He was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 1970. Oscar’s great play was recognized in 1980 as he was entered into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame.
Wilt Chamberlain, “Wilt the Stilt”, was unquestionably the best rebounder to ever play basketball. Averaging 30 points per game and 20 rebounds per game, Wilt is arguably the best player to ever play the game. Wilt Chamberlain is the only player who ever scored 100 points in a game! During one season, Wilt averaged 27.2 rebounds per game! Wilt is no doubt one of the best players to ever play basketball, and he was entered into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in 1978.
#6Shaquille O’Neal, 27,409
”Shaq” was by far the most dominant center within the past few decades. At 7 feet, 1 inch, 325 pounds, it is hard to deny Shaq’s presence in the low post. Shaq is often called “diesel” because of his huge frame. Diesel once tore down a goal and shattered the glass backboard! Shaq is a 4 time NBA Champion and now works as a basketball analyst on a major television network.
The Big “E”, Elvin Hayes was one of the top scorers in the game. Only missing 9 games in his entire 16 year career, Hayes comes in number 8 on our list. He was entered into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame in 1990, and he led his team to an NBA Championship in 1978. Elvin Hayes was drafted in 1968 as the first overall pick of the draft by the San Diego Rockets. Throughout his career he played for the Rockets and Bullets, in various locations.
#4Kobe Bryant, 31,700 points (and counting)
Kobe Bryant, the “black mamba”, is the leading scorer among active players. Kobe Bryant is one of the most talented players to ever play the game of basketball. He is one of the most clutch players; the only player that may be considered better is Michael Jordan. Kobe is inching down on the next player on our list, and if he plays long enough, might have a legitimate shot at passing the leader on the all-time scoring list. Kobe is a 5 time champion of the National Basketball Association and a 2 time scoring champion. He will be remembered forever as one of the best players to ever play basketball.
#7Moses Malone, 27,313 points
Moses Malone, another great center on our list, skipped college to endure a 21 year-long NBA career. This 12 time NBA All-Star was drafted in the 3rd round by the ABA’s Utah Stars in 1974. Moses only won 1 NBA Championship that came with the Philadelphia 76ers in 1983. Malone was selected to 12 All-Star teams, and he was credited for his work in 2001 as he was entered into the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame.
Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon was one of the best centers to ever play the game of basketball. His post moves were unparalleled and he low post presence was always felt. Hakeem stood 7 feet tall and weighed 255 pounds. He was the first player to ever win the MVP award, Defensive Player of the Year award, and Finals MVP all in the same season. He helped the Houston Rockets win their first NBA Championship, and then led them to another championship in the following season. Hakeem was also part of the 1996 “Dream Team” that went on to win a gold medal in the Olympics.
MJ! Michael Jordan, deemed by most as the most clutch player to ever play the game. Who could ever forget the heroics of Michael in “the flu” game. He scored 38 points while sick! Michael is the best player within the past few decades, and the only players that are even suggested to be close to his skill are Lebron James and Wilt Chamberlain. Michael’s captivating skills led the bulls to 6 NBA Championships. He is a 5 time NBA MVP, and he once led his team to start the season with 41 wins and 3 losses!
